harmony-of-the-seasWhat’s New? What’s Hot? Inaugural sailing from Ft Lauderdale

Royal Caribbean’s latest ship, the Harmony of the Seas arrived in November to begin her winter sailing season out of Fort Lauderdale. Whether you dare to try the Ultimate Abyss, a non-water slide that travels down 10 stories , or take the opportunity to wander thru “Central Park” and try one of the many dining venues, or attend one of the fabulous outdoor Aqua shows, or have a great cocktail prepared especially for you at the robotic bar, this ship truly delivers a new type of “WOW”!!

Even though you will want to spend as much time up and about the ship taking in all of these great features, the cabins are a wonderful place to retire to at the end of the day. One of the greatest things about these cabins is the storage space – truly a place for everything and everything in its place.

copenhagencopenhagen-roomWhat a fabulous vibe to this city!

After taking the new SAS nonstop flight from Miami, the Danes welcomed us with open arms.

The history, culture, pure life enjoyment, and especially the Scandinavian food was fantastic. If you want to get around the city like a local, make use of one of the hotel’s bikes. Dedicated bike lanes and bike only areas made it so easy for exploring.

The Grand Dame of the city, Hotel D’Angleterre: after years of renovations, is reopened and absolutely stunning. We stayed one night and it was not enough! Just look at my room. Of course, as a foodie, I can report the new Scandinavian food movement is as good as its reputation. Even their “street” hot dogs are delicious!!

Costa Rica

costa-mesa-roompura-vidaI learned the meaning of Costa Rica’s national saying, “Pura Vida” during my recent trip. The English translation is “Pure Life” but has a more profound meaning once you experience this fascinating country.

The connection started when we were greeted at the beautiful El Mangroove Hotel, Autograph Collection: located on the Gulf of Papagayo. The welcome ice cold drink, flavored with local honey, set the tone as we checked in at their open air desks.

Walking into my room, spotting the hammock in the enclosed patio section, I couldn’t wait to try it out!

“Pura Vida” was sinking in as I lie in the hammock listening to the bird song in the trees, the trickling of water and tinkling of music at the Spa located across the green from my room.
